The Edward Groves Band
Writing in a clear Midwestern voice, Edward is on a mission to clear a path through the noise of today, to find that quiet place in the forest where we can meet and talk and listen.
Where we can take some time to think.
Arm and arm with Keith Axtell on guitars, Abigail English on harmony vocals and percussion, and Chris Wood on the Chapman Stick and guitar, you'll hear what the Lansing State Journal calls:
"...A contemporary acoustic songwriter who draws from many types of music and ideas. He highlights local culture [with] "Jolly Road," about trees cut down in Okemos, and "Pretty Lucy," about a fight in a bar in Lansing, to more broad themes such as in "One Hundred Kisses," a song about a returning love."
Tom Saunders at A3radio.com says:
"Edward's songs are deceivingly simple. They contain complex ideas pared down to very effective sketches."
And from Gwen Chirico-Brandon, the Director of ArtFest:
"...His words are poetry...we're lucky to have someone of his talent..."
